L'ORÉAL PARIS
Material-Reduced Packaging Update Supporting L’Oréal for the Future (Packaging Design)
XL DESIGN
PACKAGING DESIGNER
The intent was to evolve True Match packaging under L’Oréal Paris’ updated product codes, while aligning with L’Oréal for the Future through a measurable reduction of material. At XL Design, I designed this packaging update as a packaging design project, balancing premium perception, consistency across the range, and realistic production constraints.
Building on the brand architecture established across multiple L’Oréal Paris lines, I led the development from concept to pre-industrial deliverables. A key constraint was material reduction—optimizing volumes, wall logic, and component architecture to reduce plastic usage without compromising strength, ergonomics, or perceived quality. My role covered form and detail refinement, parting and assembly logic, and DFM-oriented validation to ensure the design remained manufacturable and compatible with packaging tooling and industrial processes.
The result is a True Match pack design aligned with the new codes and sustainability direction, ready for industrialization and handoff to packaging development teams.
